Welcome back, .
There is a table inside.
You got 20 minutes?
One table is open. Three are waiting on their creator.
Nobody here is betting against anybody. They're bringing different things to the same problem, and each one settles on a date. The open one is at the top.
Three of these are propositions, not open tables. They open when their creator puts something down and names a result that can come out false. Until then they sit here as what the registry is for.
That one isn't open yet.
It's a proposition someone brought, not a table anyone can sit at. It opens when its creator puts something down and names a result that can come out false — the same two things asked of anyone here.
If it's yours, or you know whose it is, write to sw@stakeandwager.com. The one table that is open is the one to sit at today.
This is the actual room.
Not a drawing of one. Everything in here was put down by somebody, and every one of them cost something. Touch a light to find out what.

0 of 6 found. Every object here is a stake somebody made: a thing, a person, a date, and a cost. That is the same four the protocol asks of any table.
You can't open a table with nothing on it.
Whoever asks goes first. That's the only rule here.
“I have an idea. What do you think?”
Nothing on it
Costs nothing to ask, so it tells you nothing. Anyone can say they have an idea.
“I have put 17 months into this. Will you put 20 minutes behind it?”
Something on it
Someone paid something before asking. That's what makes it worth answering.

Would you give 20 minutes to a stranger's idea?
Stakeandwager tests an idea by what people will actually put behind it. It's for anyone whose idea needs more than a thumbs up.
Most people say yes to that in theory and no in practice. This page is where we find out.
Different people bring different things to the same problem. Then we find out if it worked.
A business in Somalia is failing. The owner puts the opportunity on the table — that is their stake.
One person offers 200 hours of turnaround work. Another gives two hours on the numbers. Another finds customers. Another lends equipment.
Nobody bet against anybody. Four people, four different things, one problem. The business recovers or it doesn't, and that's the only thing that settles it.
- Tested here
- Africa first, because the problems are concrete and the resource that is never scarce is people willing to work on them. Capital-first models keep arriving and leaving. This one starts with commitment.
- True anywhere
- Nothing about it is regional. A failing shop, a research question, a piece of software — anywhere someone has to go first before anyone else will follow.
- Still unproven
- That's the claim, not the finding. This page is the first test of whether anyone puts anything down at all.
Someone's gone first. Your turn to decide.
Sit at the table. Twenty minutes, once. Three questions, and you hear how it went on 23 September.
Walk away. Also a real answer. One line on why helps me as much as a yes would.
Walking away is a real answer.
It helps as much as sitting down does, but only if I know why. One line is plenty.
You're at the table.
Nothing down on your side yet. What I'm asking is 20 minutes: read it, answer three questions, send it back by .
The 17 months belong to . Still a stranger to you, unless you want to see who's sitting opposite.

- Who I am
- A developer, in Lagos.
- On the table
- 17 months on it, 28 hours over the next fortnight, and this page.
- Since
- Domain registered 8 April 2025. The idea's older than that. That date is public, so you can check it instead of taking my word.
- If it fails
- If nobody comes back on their own, I run this once more differently, then stop. I wrote that down before sending any of this.
This is an advice wager — the lightest of the three classes, alongside contribution and co-build. Given voluntarily. I may use what you send in the project however I like. No ownership, payment, or further obligation is implied on either side. Your name appears on the published result only if you say it can.
The table is loaded.
17 months one side, 20 minutes the other. Nothing's settled until the work's done.
Three questions.
First one's a tap. The other two are the actual twenty minutes. Blunt is better than polished.
Both sides are loaded.
You put 20 minutes down against @joo's 17 months.
One email on : whether six people came through, what the answers had in common, and what changed because of yours. If it resolves no, the same email says so.
Anything you want to add later goes to sw@stakeandwager.com. If it is something you will actually do rather than something you might, say so plainly — that is the part being measured.
Open your own table.
Same rules as the one you just sat at. You go first, you say what would prove you right, and you name the day it settles. Once it opens, none of that can change.
What have you already put down?
Hours, money, work finished, access you hold. Not what you intend to do — what you have already spent. A table can't open empty.
What are you attempting?
One sentence. What it is and who it's for.
What result would prove you right?
It has to be something that can come out false. Numbers, not adjectives. If nobody could point at it and say no, it isn't a milestone.
What are you asking for, and by when?
Bounded, and no larger than what you've put down. The date is when the table resolves.
Who says whether it happened?
Chosen now, not after. Deciding how something gets verified once you've seen the result is how goalposts move.
The table is open.
Nothing above can be edited now. That's the point — it's what makes the result mean something when the date arrives.

The record.
Every table that has been opened here, and what reality said about it. Results are published whichever way they go. Nothing is removed.
Will strangers put 20 minutes behind an idea that isn't theirs?

One declined, citing personal grounds. One looked and did not sit down. One read early drafts and was never formally asked. Six of fifteen was the condition. Three were approached. It resolves no.
Reported by the creator on his own table. That is not independent verification and is not presented as such.
The creator's account · 23 September 2026
The table assumed reach I did not have. I could write an honest line to three people, not fifteen, and none of the three was given a reason why them. The number was chosen before it was tested against anyone, and the fortnight went into building the instrument rather than finding the people it needed.
The most useful reading came from someone who was never formally asked. That is itself a finding about the ask.
Kept, dated and attributed. This is an account, not evidence. If it is right, the next table will show it.
One table has closed. There is no chain yet — a chain begins when a
successor names what came before it.
It will be shown as a sequence rather than a score: what was claimed, what was
staked, what happened, and what the same person put down next.
This record does not explain outcomes. A creator may attach their own account of what happened; it is kept, timestamped and attributed, and it is never treated as evidence. If they believe it, they can put it on the next table and let reality answer.
